ABOUT
James Morgan is an Emmy-nominated film director and photographer whose work explores our shifting relationship with the natural world.
In film, James recently made BECOMING YOU, a six part series with Olivia Colman for Apple TV, EARTHSTORM, a natural disaster series for Netflix and multi award-winning sea nomad biopic JAGO: A LIFE UNDERWATER. Previously James wrote and directed SEA DRAGON, a period heist film about the discovery of the first Icthyosaur, and SEVEN, a BFI-backed and BAFTA long-listed drama about a young woman forced to preside over an indigenous murder trial.
In photography, his large format images capture the shared experience of humans and animals - emphasising both our oneness with the animal kingdom and charting our inevitable separation from it. The photographs have appeared in magazines and galleries around the world and have contributed to sparking debate and policy change on environmental and indigenous rights issues.
James is currently working on an environmental thriller set in North East Greenland and a new eight part series for Universal that explores the history of life on Earth.
He is represented for film and television by Jethro Thompson at Curtis Brown.
